Seminars from Nexans: "CPR" and "Performance on LAN Cables"

May 30, 2017

Within the scope of CPR which came into effect on the 10th of June, 2016 for cables in our country, the transition period which both current and CPR compliant cables may legally be sold and used ends on July 1, 2017. As of this date, the use of CPR compliant cables becomes a legal requirement.

Seminar program included two sessions. During the first session, the scope of the "Construction Product Regulations", accompanying changes and responsibilities were discussed in detail and the participants' questions were answered.

The second session focused on "Performance on LAN Cables" where topics such as the latest situation in the LAN cable market, the selection of the correct LAN cable and the problems experienced in implementation were shared.

The seminar program was realized with the presentation of Nexans Turkey Marketing Manager Ayhan Güngör and Nexans Turkey Technical Manager Kamil Mutlu.

Ayhan Güngör, Nexans Turkey Marketing Manager added: “As of today, CPR is one of the most important topics for Turkish cable industry and also for us. The one year transition period for the new regulation since June 2016 ends on July 1, 2017. Through our seminars we continue to convey the issues such as the scope of the regulation and the legal obligations of the sector stakeholders. There are no regulations or standards on which CPR classes should be used for which applications in Turkey, and therefore there are many important points to be clarified for CPR in the coming period. Another important topic we emphasized is the performance of LAN cables which is not depending directly on the conductor size. Our seminars accelerated in May, we will keep on working unabated, and we will continue to support our business partners with technical seminars and informative documents as usual. We invite you to visit www.nexans.com.tr/cpr especially if you want to get more information about CPR for cables. "
