Atilla Kurtiş will lead a team of around 2,000 people across 3 continents and 9 factories

Atilla Kurtiş, who has delivered significant successes as Nexans’ General Manager for Turkey, Levant, and Central Asia, has been appointed as the company’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa. In this new role, he will lead a team of around 2,000 people across three continents and nine factories, while also joining Nexans’ 14-member Group Executive Committee.

Nexans operates in the electrification sector worldwide with more than 60 factories in 41 countries and a workforce of 28,500, continually driving breakthroughs in sustainable energy solutions and high-tech cables. Having excelled as Nexans’ General Manager for Turkey, Levant, and Central Asia, Kurtiş will now oversee the company’s Middle East and Africa operations, managing a business volume of approximately €750 million in these regions. This strategic appointment places Kurtiş in charge of nine factories across three continents, where he will continue championing sustainability and innovation-driven projects. Under its global growth strategy, Nexans’ operations in 41 countries will be guided by the company’s 14-member Group Executive Committee—now including Turkey’s own Atilla Kurtiş.

Sustainability and a Net-Zero Emission Goal

In line with its commitment to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, Nexans aims to accelerate several investments initiated in Türkiye. A prime example is the Denizli Plant’s plan to prevent 900 tons of carbon emissions annually by 2030. Through a “green factory” approach, the company is boosting energy efficiency and reducing emissions, guided by its distinctive E3 (Economy, Ecosystem, Employee Engagement) management model.

17 Years of Nexans Experience

Speaking about his new role, Atilla Kurtiş emphasized continuing Nexans’ focus on sustainability in the Middle East and Africa: “I’m entering my 17th year with Nexans family, and I’m thrilled to extend the success my team and I have achieved to the Middle East and Africa. With our vision to shape the future of electrification, actively engaging in the global energy transition and promoting renewables and sustainable manufacturing processes will be top priorities for me. In the coming period, across nine factories on three continents, we will concentrate on reducing our carbon footprint while delivering innovation-driven solutions that add value for our customers. The ‘Most Digital Factory’ accolade we earned in Türkiye, along with our continued R&D investments, will be crucial in advancing our leadership in these regions.”
