Nexans First Technical Seminar in Iraq was held on Nov 28, 2018 in Erbil

The first technical seminar organized by Nexans in Iraq took place with the participation of reputable companies representing Power distribution and Oil Gas sectors among which Erbil, Dohuk, Mousul electrical departments of the Ministry of Electricity as well as Oil and Gaz EPC’s.

The seminar with the participation of 40 guests had started with the presentation of Jerome Leroy, Nexans Turkey CEO, Central & Western Asia GM on Nexans in general, capabilities and Nexans units around the world and continued with the presentation of Mahmut Serhan, Business Development Deputy Manager Iraq on Nexans presence in the Middle East and Iraq.

Technical details on LV and MV cables, specs related with MoE, accessories, fire safety cables, cables for O&G and details about hypron cables are presented by Hamada Khalifa, Regional Product Manager Oil and Gas Downstream Middle East and Seher Sarıca, Product Manager Nexans Turkey. “Beyond cables” approach of Nexans for O&G is also shared with the customers by Isil Bagcioglu, Area Sales-Marketing Director Central Asia.

ISP and B&T segments were addressed by putting deeper focus on power generation, substations, transmission line and distribution projects as well as O&G downstream. Fire resistant, fire retardant cables had taken big interest of the audience and this seminar was a good opportunity to promote fire safety products which is a missing knowledge in the market.

During one-day seminar, which was very interactive showing the interest of the guests on the topics presented and discussed by the Nexans team, the participants were informed that similar seminars, will be continuing in other cities of Iraq such as Suleymaniye, Basra and Baghdad which will support the growth expectations of Nexans in Iraq market.
