In Denizli, Nexans to Prevent 900 Tons of Annual Carbon Emissions with €17 Million Investment

Denizli Factory has been integrated into a green transformation program aligned with the company’s 2030 goals, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Nexans, a global leader in sustainable electrification solutions with 28,000 employees across 41 countries, is undertaking a significant green transformation project at its factory in Denizli. Currently operating on a 49,000-square-meter site with a monthly production capacity of 3,850 tons, the Denizli Factory has been integrated into a green transformation program aligned with the company’s 2030 goals, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Green Factory Concept in Denizli

As part of this transformation, the Denizli Factory will expand its area by 20% and begin operating on a 58,000-square-meter site starting in 2025. This expansion will include upgrades aligned with 2030 standards for operational efficiency and workplace safety. Designed under the green building concept, the project has a €7 million budget allocated for building investments. Including machinery upgrades, digitalization, capacity expansion, and efficiency improvements, the total investment budget reaches €17 million.

Kurtiş: "We Aim to Reduce Annual Carbon Emissions by 900 Tons"

Atilla Kurtiş, General Manager of Nexans Türkiye, Levant, and Central Asia, highlighted the significance of the project with the following statement: "With this major investment, our goal is to achieve more efficient production by using much less energy and reducing carbon emissions in our factory. We aim to create a project in Denizli that will set an example for the world under the green factory concept. Last year, we achieved significant export success by delivering our innovative products manufactured in Denizli to 50 countries worldwide. This distinguished city deserves an eco-friendly factory equipped with next-generation technologies that will serve as a global model. With this investment, we anticipate reducing our annual carbon emissions by approximately 900 tons."

Kurtiş emphasized Nexans Türkiye’s achievements in breaking export records with fire-resistant cables and their ongoing commitment to contributing to Turkey's sustainable future and economy. He stated: "At Nexans, we provide solutions for the generation, transmission, distribution, and use of energy from renewable sources, enabling electrification and accelerating the energy transition. Furthermore, we have officially declared our goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. In line with this, we are adopting a responsible management approach with our innovative 3E model, which balances sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental impact. Through this model, we aim to ensure both the sustainability of our company and our planet."
