Nexans Received ISO 27001 Information Security Management System Certificate

After beginning the necessary works in the last September, Nexans Turkey accomplished system requirements in a very short time, passed successfully the inspections and entitled to obtain ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

Nexans who provide high performance cable and cable solutions for its customers with the slogan “brings energy to life”, successfully accomplished the “ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security Management System” (ISMS) which was launched with the aim of ensuring “confidentiality, integrity and usability” of the information. Inspections showed that Nexans accomplished system requirements in a very short time and entitled to obtain ISO/IEC certification.

Within the scope of the project an ISMS committee was formed consisting of representatives from various departments within the company. As part of the activities this committee led, trainings for developing technical and behavioral competencies were organized, numerous configurations and regulations were adopted within the offices and production plants.

“The Information Security Management System involves protecting electronical information assets, preventing any violations regarding statutory responsibilities and any security requirements, defining the objectives of the company for this issue and raising awareness of all employees and the relevant parties. We are glad that we have obtained ISO 27001 certificate and defined and adopted associated specifications after an intensive work for 4 months. On the other hand, information security is not only possible with confidentiality of the information, but also with ensuring its integrity and usability. It means that this is a continuous and active project for us.” said Nexans Turkey Information Technologies Manager and Head of Information Security Committee Ergün Kurtulmuş, when talking about the project.
