“Construction Products Regulation” (CPR) came into effect on the 10th of June, 2016 in our country. Until 1st of July, 2107 we are in a transition process that both current and CPR compliant cables may legally be sold and used together. In the transition period, national officials and designated firms will design performance level of cables using Euroclass certification system. On the other hand, after 1st of June, 2017, manufacturers will have to have CE marking for all fixed cables in premises in compliance with CPR.
Considering all these developments about the sector, Nexans set out to support its business partners with educational documents and technical seminars during and after this one-year transition period and with representatives from the sector shared topics including statutory scope and objective of the regulation, CPR classification for cables, CE marking process, Euroclass classifications, current situation about the regulations in Turkey, responsibilities for all parties, standards that will be applied and how the conformity authorization process will proceed in the future.
