Nexans, brings solar energy to children in Denizli

Pioneer brand of the cable sector with its innovative products and solutions, Nexans made a new addition to its social responsibility projects. Drawing attention with its activities in education and carrying out leading projects with prominent non-governmental organizations of Türkiye, Nexans will both provide the privileged environment that children need and set an example for a sustainable world with the solar roof application to be introduced in Dentaş Special Education Application Center (DOÇEM), that is one of the leading schools in the world providing special education in Denizli.

The project that is targeting June as its completion date, Nexans Foundation and Nexans Turkey in cooperation with Dentaş Kağıt Sanayi A.Ş. and Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu Foundation for Education and Culture, will meet entire power requirement of the school. In other words, power expenses of the school will be completely eliminated and the school will be able to produce from the sun the energy required by various activities and learning spaces specially designed considering needs of the children.

Built by Dentaş Kağıt Sanayi and donated to the Ministry of National Education, DOÇEM provides education in both educational and social fields, specially designed with the vision of enabling autistic children to lead their lives independently.

Regarding the project, General Manager Nexans Turkey, Atilla Kurtiş said: “Improving living standards of autistic children who are negatively affected by traditional heating and cooling systems and their families, this project will also be a step forward for a sustainable future for our planet, which sets the basis of our vision as Nexans.
